Quality Control (QC) Operator – AmeriQual Foods – Evansville, IN

AmeriQual Foods is seeking qualified associates to act as Quality Control (QC) Operator.   This position is responsible for performing and monitoring in process product analysis to ensure the product being produced is meeting or exceeding internal, customer, and regulatory specifications.   The QC Operator Trainee is also trained to operate the filling line in an efficient, resourceful manner as to reach expected scheduling goals. This position works closely and has to effectively communicate with Kettle Lead, Technical Operator, and Quality Assurance department.    Pay starting at $15.67 per hour.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform various quality related checks and a test to ensure filling equipment is operating within specification. This testing is done at start up and throughout the production run.
  • Ensure nonconforming product is visually identified, logged and communicated with relevant team members
  • Collect samples from various locations for laboratory analysis, retention, and incubation.
  • Enter in process data into SPC
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization, industry, and regulatory standards and maintaining a clean and 5S work area.
  • Perform various equipment start up processes when operating filling line
  • Verify codes, materials, and retort configurations when operating filling line
  • Watch for and learn to troubleshoot potential equipment issues when operating filling line
  • Maintain quality standards such as seals, weights, airs, and cleanliness and documenting on appropriate forms within the set time limits when operating the filling line

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience training/auditing preferred
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Strong work ethic and team communications
  • Knowledge of SPC is beneficial
  • Strong reasoning, multitasking, and communication skills

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time as well as walk frequently.   Bending and squatting may also be required.  The associate is frequently required to use arms to reach out and use hands to grasp objects and/or controls.  The associate must regularly lift and move up to 30-40 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.  The associate is required to work in both hot and cold environments.
